Which also means that you believe that you will never see your loved ones again. Do you not find that depressing ever? How do you cope with life then? Sure, it’s sad. But I think that those who believe that we only get this one shot live fuller, more enriching lives because they aren’t convinced they’ll be getting something better afterwards. They also tend to seek some form of “live after death” by leaving something of worth behind.

It helps that I can slam a shot every time I see this question.
How is it that believing in fairy tales adds meaning to your life? If anything, it takes meaning away, looking at this life as some sort of “test” for the “real thing.” You’re simply transferring all the value of life off to some postulated “afterlife.” To me, that’s much more depressing, especially since self-denial is so frequently put forward as the means to get into heaven - “Don’t have any fun now, so that you can have all the fun later!” But what if “later” never comes?
P.S. - I love how people always single me out for the thumbs downs, even though I’m saying pretty much exactly what others are saying. To me, that’s the measure of how well I nailed the truth.
